P.S. The only good thing about all this is that my new host has been extremely helpful. I mean they were answering my e-mails at 9pm last night-- how great is that? The host is DreamHost.com. Though I'm suffering for the time being for my ignorance and lazyness in signing up for web service with Yahoo in the first place, I am very much looking forward to working with Dreamhost. They give me the feeling that they are doing everything they can to be of assistance, though most of this is for the time being out of their control. Props to dreamhost.

BAH. Yahoo and Melbourne IT (the company my domain is apparently registered through) are giving me the run around and I'm quite irritated. All I can say is that if you are ever thinking of paying for web hosting service... STAY AWAY FROM YAHOO. I've had no complaints with their service until now, but I'm starting to understand Josh's frustration with AOL. It's like they're keeping me from changing my info so that I'll stick around and keep paying them money every month so that my web site doesn't go down for an extended period of time. I say screw them. If my site is down for a couple weeks it's because I will no longer allow yahoo to screw with me. I'm cancelling this service first chance I get today (damn, I have to wait until 9am). So if you see this post it means that you saw my site within the 1 hour window between the time that I snapped and the time Yahoo customer service opens.

*pssst* I heard a rumor that Mar has a certain type of ring on her finger. I haven’t seen it to verify it but yeah, it’s not unexpected, she’s been “unofficially” engaged for a week or so now. I figure if she has a ring it’s now “official” and I can mutter something on my web site, hehe. What is it these days with people starting blogs while in the midst of major life events. First Josh starts his the same time as he becomes a father and has his first kid, and now Mar is starting one up the same time as she’s getting engaged/married. Craziness! I’m glad that my blog is already started so I don’t have to worry about any major life events popping up in coincidence with the blog, hehehe… anyways, CONGRATS Mar!

Dang. I chose to transfer not only my web hosting service but also my domain registrar... this whole process they say can take up to 7-10 days to complete, how sucky is that. Oh well... it has begun. Now begins the road to yet another version of Sloanie.com... At least I'll have more than enough space and flexibility to host Mar's blog as well. I'll probably be headed to Vegas by the time this all falls into place. Hmmm... that could cramp my blog updating there. I guess we'll see...

Just some advanced notice. As we progress in getting Mar a blog, I've also become more committed to changing web hosts and ditching blogger. So if, in the next few days, you find Sloanie.com is down/unavailable, this is why-- I'm switching hosts to something much better and less expensive-- nice eh?

Sorry for the pointless post (yes I'll try to get some pictures up later)-- but I totally failed that last post. I'm just now realizing how those dancing cartoons are so much better with background music to dance to :D I guess I'll have to try that out, heh. I mean, who dances to no music?

Also, as Mar mentioned in her comment on that last post-- she's looking for ideas for a name for her own blog (yes Joel it continues to spread, . Any suggestions for Mar's blog?

Just a quick update for Friday. Thought I’d post this image for, as my brother Steve likes to put it, “gits and shiggles”.

Yay, new design project for me! Thought Mar has expressed interest in doing a blog before when I’ve told her she should, she has now actually asked me when we can do it… woo, I get to design her blog. I enjoy web design, it’s just that sometimes I can’t think of anything to design. Stay tuned for yet another Sloanie blog. It should be, writing-wise, far superior to mine, as Marianne actually enjoys creative writing, has a degree in English, and is employed as a writer. Maybe some day we can get her sucked in to the point where she gets a digital camera and posts pics on her blog.

More pictures taken by Brandon - June 6

Brandon took these pictures on June 6th at Echo Lake—the sunset shot is simply breathtaking, so I had to post it. The wakeboarding shot is amazing in it’s own right, but this small version of it doesn’t do it justice. Just the amount of detail is awesome—especially for being shot from a moving boat. I always have problems with my pictures coming out blurry. Anyways, click on the sunset picture above for a large version—it’s simply beautiful. Props for the great pics Brandon—I need to get out and take more. I think I may just start posting random photos that don’t necessarily correlate to the topic of the post… I love posting pics.

Man, I love my laptop more each day. On Saturday, Ty brought his laptop over and we got some multiplayer LAN gaming going, so much fun. Then yesterday I was sitting in the Laz-E-Boy recliner in the front room, watching TV on the big screen TV while tinkering with my web page and photoshop on the laptop and chatting- all wireless (except for the mouse I was using). Anyways, that’s about as exciting as my life gets, hehe....

I was baptized by fire into the whole GAY world. --Melissa

Melissa was telling Marianne and I the other day at lunch how she bumped into an old friend from High School on Thursday while at the Arts Festival. I don’t remember exactly how it came out but when she bumped into him I guess the subject of him being gay came up, and Melissa told him that she knew he was. When he asked how she knew, she said that she could tell as she had lots of gay guy friends. Her expression to Mar and I was the above quote-- she was baptized by fire into the whole gay world.

Loose Weight

Amazing but true, loose weight in the shower.
New seaweed soap used in china for 400 years.
Uses natural ingredients included rare seaweeds
to help you shed inches safely and quickly.
It has no known side effects.
Unconditional money back guaranty!

Mmm... just got this in my e-mail. Imagine how you smell after washing with your nice seaweed soap! Anyways, what does having loose weight in your shower have to do with seaweed soap? And more importantly, WHY is there loose weight in your shower? Hehe... On a tangent, I swatted this little spider last night-- I think the basement has finally been invaded. This morning I got up to shower and I think the spider's mommy was hanging out in the shower to get me for swatting her baby-- yeah there was a big ol spider in there just waiting for me at my most vulnerable time. She should have hidden better... now she rests in the sewer!

(Yes I've been a little extra creeped about spiders since Brandon forwarded some pics of what a brown recluse spider bite can do to you... very graphic and very stomach-turning.)
