THE STAPEL FAMILY
Frank and Mary Stapel
Frank and Mary Stapel (Dad and Mom) started the Stapel Clan on February 23rd, 1957. They lived in Massachusetts where Valeri(e) and Pamela were born in 1957 and 1959 respectively, then moved to Vermont, where Andrea was born in 1961. Dad's job moved him to Phoenix, AZ where we lived for a number of years, and then he took a job in Pennsylvania, where Lee was born in 1969.
They live in a beautiful house in the backwoods of Pennsylvania (well, it was backwoods when I was growing up there), with the cats Jennifer and Herman, and try to keep up with the enormous job of maintaining a large house, yard and garden.
Dad's been retired for several years, but recently took a job working part-time for Sears where he probably knows more about working around a house than any 6 of the whipper snappers he works with.
Mom doesn't get around too well any more, but I hear she's hell on wheels when she gets into that turbo-charged wheelchair of hers.
The Stapel Siblings
This picture was taken in February of 1997, when we all got together to throw a surprise party for Mom and Dad's 40th wedding anniversary.
Andrea Payne (top left) is living in Delaware with her husband Bruce, two kids, Kellie and Ian, cats Gizmo, MamaKitty and DC, and dogs Shelby, Ilea and Mandy. She works from home for a moving company, scheduling corporate moves for business executives.
Valeri Jones (top right) lives in Utah with her husband Andrew, two daughters Mary and Elizabeth, and cats Bogart, Simon, Kaitlyn and Newk. Currently, she's working for an internet-based medical supply company, and races her car on the weekends during the summer.
Lee Stapel (lower left) lives in Massachusetts with his sweetie Maura and their python named Lucy. Lee is testing electronic devices for a living.
Pamela Hartley (lower right) doesn't spend much time at her home in Maryland, because she's usually flying people across the country as a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines. When she is home, she lives with her daughter Katie, son John, significant other, Dean, and a mud turtle named Hidey.
The Stapel Cousins
This picture is of the Stapel Sibling's kids, as of February, 1997. They are:
Top Row:
Katie Hartley (Pamela's oldest), Ian Payne (Andrea's youngest) and Kellie Stapel (Andrea's oldest).
Second Row:
Mary Jones (Valeri's oldest), John Hartley (Pamela's youngest) and Elizabeth Jones (Valeri's youngest).
In August of 2000, the six of them descended upon Valeri's house in Utah for one wild week, (one that she will not EVER forget unless the drugs kick in), and if I can find any pictures, I'll post them here at a later date.
The Extended Stapel Clan
This is the entire extended Stapel-based brood; the Stapel kids, their spouses / significant others and their kids. Let's see if I can name them all.
Starting from the far left is Elizabeth Jones and her dad, Andy Jones. On top is Valeri Jones, Lee Stapel and his sweetie, Maura O'Brien.
Below and to the right of Andy is Bruce Payne, Andrea's husband. Next to him and slightly above is Katie Hartley, Pam's Daughter. Below them is Andrea Payne and son Ian. Next to Ian is Mary Jones.
Just below Lee is Kellie Stapel, Andrea's daughter. Diagonally down to the right from there is Dean Raymond, Pamela Hartley, and her son, John.
